Town Hall at the State Capitol

Today (2009-08-28) citizens of District 2 held a town hall meeting without Congressman Bobby Bright. He has refused to meet his constituents face to face after many repeated requests via phone, letters and visits to his several offices in District 2. The day before Congressman Bright was interviewed by Mr McKee on WMNT radio in the Wiregrass district and called these same people liars and extremists.

I spoke at this event for a few minutes, among many other concerned citizens. I was not scheduled to speak, but the opportunity arose. It was held on the south lawn of the state capitol. I was very impressed with the speakers and the audience. My guess is there was between 300-500 people in attendance.

Of the few points I made, I want to take this opportunity to reiterate the following. Bobby Bright is no Conservative by any measure. Agreeing sometimes with Conservatives and at others with Liberals does not make you a Conservative; it makes you a compromiser. Just what Liberals want and need. He is a Conservative in name only.

Lastly and most importantly, I failed to encourage each of you to become ex-members of the Silent Majority. The Silent Majority can never win until it becomes a Un-Silent Majority.

We are not Powerless !
